 Can't find a mattress to fit the dimensions of the bed, Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: South Shore Libra Collection Twin 39-inch Platform Bed, Chocolate (Kitchen) This would be a nice bed IF we could find a twin mattress to fit the platform bed. We went and bought a regular twin mattress, brought it home and put it on the platform. To our surprise the mattress did not fit. The mattress didn't cover the platform in length or width. We took the mattress back and decided to measure before we bought another one. Amazingly all of the twin mattresses (in a well established mattress store) were different sizes! The range was anywhere from 1 to 3 inches difference. Of course with this type of bed, it is important that the mattress cover the platform. After measuring all of the twin mattresses in the store, NONE of them were big enough to cover the platform. The twin XL is too long and not wide enough. I read the reviews before I bought the bed, and did not see that anyone else had this problem. The bed is definitely put together correctly. I wonder if the bed we got was defective, but regardless we were not paying to ship it... The only real problem is the corners of the end of the bed, they give you plastic corners to go on them, but they don't stay on! so if you ever hit your shin on it... well lets just say it hurts. but other then that the bed has worked out fantastic =] |
